If there is one thing we have learned in over 25 years of business, it is that every situation is unique. That is why we come to each engagement with a fresh perspective. We draw on our pool of knowledge and experience to formulate solutions tailored to each client's unique situation.

Following are descriptions of some of services we offer:

Operations Improvement
With extensive experience as 'efficiency experts', we analyze existing operations for their added value and effectiveness. We develop opportunities to streamline, combine or eliminate operations while improving the quality and value of the product or service rendered. We work side-by-side with you to implement our recommended changes. Once the initial changes have been implemented, performance measurements are instituted in a manner to promote continuous improvement and reengineering. Our experience ranges from updating and fine tuning existing operations to building manufacturing facilities from the ground up.

Organizational Development
The effectiveness of your organization may well be the single, most powerful, element influencing your profits. Organizational effectiveness is not based on luck or some abstract art form – it is based on careful design and development. Like all other aspects of business, organizational development is based on logical, straightforward steps. We can guide you through the necessary steps of thoroughly understanding and defining the purpose of your organization. Succeeding steps will address development of operations to best serve the purpose of the organization, "packaging" of these operations to optimize human and physical resources and development of resources best suited to the needs. Careful design of measurement, control and reward mechanisms are essential to assure effectiveness, quality and ongoing reengineering.

Strategic Planning
Lack of direction and uncoordinated efforts squander enormous amounts of resources, especially money. No one disputes the need for goals and a plan to achieve the goals – yet fewer than 10 percent of businesses have a WRITTEN plan of where they are going and how to get there. Most companies avoid strategic planning because it is viewed as a costly, time consuming process that cannot comprehend the rapidly changing environment of MY COMPANY. This daunting perception is totally false – if you know what you are doing. The way we do it, strategic planning is a highly efficient, no-nonsense process that yields a dynamic plan that gives you an enormous advantage in an ever-changing environment. This process may well yield the greatest cost to benefit ratio of any effort you will undertake.

Cash Management
Of all the precious business resources, cash is king. While we routinely ask our people for extra effort and think nothing of pushing our equipment beyond the specified limits, we tend to think of a dollar very rigidly as 100 cents - no more & no less. In reality, we trade dollars for all of the other business resources, and therefore, the dollar is at least as flexible as any other resource. When the blinders are removed, cash flow can be altered by changing other business resources, restructuring debt or equity, modifying terms of buying or selling, altering prices or costs, etc, etc, etc. Having worked with scores of businesses addressing similar cash management challenges, we bring you a cornucopia of cash optimizing tools.

Management Information
As businesses grow and change accelerates, senior management is increasingly challenged to keep abreast of what is going on in their business. When your company is small, it is not difficult for you to keep your fingers on the pulse of the business. With growth comes delegation, and almost overnight, you can lose touch with the processes you once controlled. With delegation comes the need for accurate and timely information. Otherwise problems can begin to pop up everywhere at an ever-increasing rate. Customers, vendors and staff get frustrated. More meetings, reports, e-mails and spreadsheets only seem to make it worse. Longer work hours and more Band-Aids won't fix the problem. Fortunately, yours isn't the only company to face this barrier. Other companies have already developed many of the solutions you need. We can help you select, develop and implement the solutions that really work for you … and we can do it NOW.

Project Management
Whether your needs involve multiple aspects of a complex project that require management of schedule, costs, physical resources, interfaces with other projects, non-linear cost learning relationships, etc. or you need a simple step-by-step approach for completing a one-time project, we can provide the tools and experience to address your needs. Management of a project is substantially different from the management of ongoing operations. Managed poorly, projects can severely impact the effectiveness of the entire company. Not only are we experienced with guiding major government contractors through program management compliance reviews, we manage our own day-to-day consulting projects through proven and effective management techniques that we can bring to you.

Material / Product Flow Management
In manufacturing, warehousing and distribution, getting stuff from point A to point B to point C is one of the major challenges, and opportunities of management. Virtual corporations, Just-In-Time procurement, Kanban processes, Enterprise Resource Planning, Phantom Hubs, etc are all tools to help you get materials through the supply line to your customers. We can show you how to get goods from the correct vendor to you, through your facilities, and on to your customer in the most profit effective manner.

Facilities
If you have outgrown your present plant and equipment, are contemplating downsizing, considering a move or are changing processes, we provide comprehensive facilities planning and management expertise. Too often we have seen businesses acquire properties that are not suitable for their needs. Working with your realtor or architect, we bridge the needs of a business operation with the constraints of architecture and municipalities. We will ensure that proper consideration is given to zoning, environmental constraints, structural and safety requirements, floor loading and vibration, sound, scrap, hazardous materials, power, water, sewage, HVAC, permits, etc.

Human Resources
Rapidly changing laws and an ever more litigious workforce can turn  employing personnel into a virtual minefield. The simple act of adding one employee can unknowingly open you to an entirely new set of regulations. For most small businesses, it is not cost effective to keep current with changing laws and administer this function. We can help. We will assess your present situation, spell out the steps required to correct any flaws, assess the risks and effect prudent actions.

Employee Profiling
We provide profiling for existing and potential employees. This process is extremely valuable. It identifies the strengths and weaknesses of individuals, giving you an 'operating manual' on how to best utilize your human resources. This makes for a successful and profitable staff. Another value of profiling your staff is as an early warning of potential anti–social or psychological problems – allowing you the opportunity to take proactive actions to minimize your risk.

Interim Management
If turnover, illness, growth, change or management overload has created the need for a professional to hit the ground running, talk to us. We can provide seasoned professionals with hands-on experience in the roles of:

  • CEO – Chief Executive Officer
  • CFO – Chief Financial Officer
  • COO – Chief Operations Officer
  • Director of Materials (Warehousing & Distribution)
  • Director of Human Resources
  • Project Manager – Development Projects
  • Facilities Director – Plant and Equipment

Whether you need someone to roll up their sleeves and get the job done or someone to coach a green executive, it is likely that we have the experience on our staff – or – from our past experience, we know who can fill your needs.
